A team of engine specialists, under the supervision of John Gardener, working with the development and flight departments, assembles the H3 Sport engines, using selected parts from the well-known Rotax 912 engine.
45 improvements are made to the basic engine, including enlarged cylinder capacity and full adaptation of the engine to helicopter’s rotary wing. The ECU (engine control computer) constantly keeps the pilot informed of engine parameters, automates clutch and throttle control and provides Canbus communications. The engines deliver 135 shaft horsepower and each one is run-in on an engine test bed for 5 hours before undergoing 5 hours flight tests. The team’s reward is the safety and reliability of these engines.
